About the Initiative

The Northside/Lund community is filled with generous, caring individuals.

Together, under the Lund Community Society, we are building supports that help residents age safely and comfortably in their own homes for as long as possible.

Northside Community Centred Care also promotes education and empowerment around death care, including home-based funerals, rituals, and green burial options right here in our community.

Our approach is community-driven and rooted in compassion, practicality, and connection.

Why This is Important

In our rural Northside qathet community, many residents face challenges as they age at home, including transportation and isolation, as well as a lack of local services. This initiative builds a network of care where neighbours help neighbours, ensuring no one is left behind.

By connecting volunteers, caregivers, and local partners, Northside Community Centred Care fosters dignity, belonging, and sustainability from birth to death, and all the life in between.

In respect and gratitude, we recognize that we live on the homelands of the Coast Salish People. Before being renamed by European settlers, the Lund harbour was known as Kla-Ah-Men by the Tla'amin, Homalco & Klahoose people who have inhabited these lands since time immemorial.
