Lund Community Society | COVID FUND

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Lund Community Society (LCS) decided to set-up a fund to provide mini-grants that can help people who are struggling during this crisis. The LCS donated a small amount to get the fund started, but received many donations by generous community members.

We were able to distribute a number of mini-grants to folks in need, but government support was faster than we anticipated. Therefore, much of the grant was left untouched. On September 15th, LCS board voted to donate the remainder of the fund to the Tla'amin Nation food bank. The Tla'amin community is facing a serious outbreak and has taken unprecedented action to keep themselves and the rest of the region safe.

During this time of hardship we believed it was best to donate money so it could be used by those in need.

Thank you to all those who have donated!

In respect and gratitude, we recognize that we live, work, and play on the traditional, unceded homelands of the Coast Salish People. Before being renamed by European settlers, the Lund harbour was known as Kla-Ah-Men by the Tla'amin people who have inhabited these lands since time immemorial.
